Gut Health

Many experts are coming to the conclusion that the gut is the gateway to optimal health. Why is this? Well, our bodies systems are intimately linked to one another. If one thing is out of balance, it can throw the whole system out of balance. 

Case in point: the digestive and immune systems. It is estimated that between 60-80% of our immune system is located in our gut, so if the gut is irritated or inflamed, our body’s capacity to heal and fight infections is severely compromised. Gut imbalances have been linked to an astonishing range of conditions beyond IBS: diabetes, hormonal imbalances, autoimmune disease, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, skin issues like rosacea, eczema and psoriasis, and even infertility. 

With gut health impacting such a wide variety of conditions, it simply stands to reason that one of the first steps to healing should include a diet inventory and possible makeover. Removing irritants and adding healthy and healing foods and supplements in a systematic process will go a long way to repairing the gut, providing the necessary foundation for true healing.
